What is Super-Titanium
The Super Titanium Collection is a synergy of lightweight titanium material, and Citizen's original technology in ion-plating to further harden the watch surface. Using this technology, the surface rates 1200 on the Vickers scale, resulting in a watch to be both light and hard.

The Super Titanium Collection rates 1200 on the Vickers scale through the application of Citizen's original technology in ion-plating. The watch is five times harder than other stainless steel watches. As well as being light and hard, the collection is available in various designs. |

Ion-plating is one of the key technologies used in the space program. In Citizen's ion-plating technology, a titanium material is ionized by being heated to 2000℃ in a vacuum, using an electron beam. The ionized titanium is then pressure-bonded onto the watch surface to form a coating. |

Remarks: Vickers hardness (Hv) is measured by pressing a probe made of diamond against a test piece. This method is applicable to very hard material and is widely used as the standard for other hardness tests. |
